Unser Schüler Sebastian Schreidl aus der 3C hat ein ganz besonderes Talent und viel Ausdauer bewiesen: Er zeichnet in seiner Freizeit eine eigene Graphic Novel mit dem Titel „Work is hell“ – und veröffentlicht diese nach und nach auf der Online-Plattform ComicFury.

Das sagt Sebastian über den Entstehungsprozess des Projektes:

My process:

I was doodling during a school break 2 1/2 years ago, (I‘m as of 2024-2025 in 3rd grade). I came up with a Simpson- like figure with a big head, which I named Bob

(I thought it looked like a  bobblehead). My original idea of the story was an underground organisation, in other words Hell, which led humans to be human. At first I wanted to make a comic strip, but later on I  took a dark turn and I changed the story to be about an organisation, which creates electricity through humans. For you see, normal electricity doesn’t work underground.

What I also changed is Bob, who was a human father, but now is an underground mutant, which best friend is an alcoholic worm. I’ve also experimented with the style a lot, but I’m sticking with the one I’ve got now. For about 2 years I was caught up on experimenting, but now I finally want to get things done.

I’m drawing panel after panel now and page after page. I’ve got the story planned out, but I don’t have a real processing plan. I take every page one by one.

Work is Hell is a private project, which I’m now making public step by step. I’m drawing and writing it alone, although my uncle who’s a former graphic designer has helped me a lot by showing me procreate, a great drawing app and setting me up with comicfury, a website where you can host your own webcomic.

Das Projekt ist mehr als nur ein Hobby: Mit viel Liebe zum Detail, Kreativität und Durchhaltevermögen gestaltet Sebastian jede Seite selbst. Inspiration holt er sich sowohl im Kunstunterricht als auch in seiner Freizeit. Unterstützt von seinen Lehrer:innen arbeitet er laufend an neuen Kapiteln und freut sich über jeden Kommentar und jede Rückmeldung auf der Plattform.

„Ich möchte, dass meine Arbeit auch außerhalb des Internets mehr Aufmerksamkeit bekommt“, erzählt Sebastian. Kein Wunder – denn was er da auf die Beine stellt, ist beeindruckend: Eine spannende Geschichte, eindrucksvoll visualisiert, mit eigenem Stil und persönlicher Handschrift.
